Adamawa Central Senatorial District’s Senator and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology, Aminu Iya Abbas, extended his heartfelt congratulations to Nigerians and the Muslim Ummah on Sunday, marking the Islamic New Year 1446 and commemorating the migration (Hijra) of Prophet Muhammad from Makkah to Madinah.
In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media and Public Affairs, Ahmad Muhammad Danyaro, Senator Abbas conveyed his message of goodwill and reflection.
“On the occasion of the Islamic New Year and the commemoration of the Hijra, I urge Muslims and other citizens to imbibe the lessons of compassion, peace, tolerance, and support for one another. I wish all Muslims a blessed year,” Abbas said.
The Senator called on Muslims to reflect on the significance of the Hijra and the broader teachings of the Holy Prophet, encouraging them to follow his example.
He expressed hopes for “peace, tranquillity, and prosperity” in the new year.
