Atmosfair Donates Solar-Powered Borehole to Three Nigerian States

Atmosfair Climates & Sustainability, makers of the Save 80 Energy Efficient Clean Cook Stove, has donated solar-powered boreholes to three underserved communities in northern Nigeria

The initiative, in collaboration with the National Agency for the Great Green Wall (NAGGW), targets three local communities: Nayi Nawa Bukka Shida in Nguru, Yobe State; Dan Tanoma Village in Gumel, Jigawa State; and Massalacin Juma’a Y’an Garki Dakata in Nasarawa, Kano State, aiming to alleviate water shortages and mitigate the challenges of water-borne diseases.

The solar-powered boreholes provide a reliable and eco-friendly source of clean water, reducing the time women and children spend collecting water, which limits their access to education and economic activities.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Alhaji Abdurahman Bawa, Director of Government Relations at Atmosfair Climates & Sustainability, commented on the organization’s focus on community development and renewable energy.

“Access to clean water is a basic human right, and we are proud to support these communities with this solar-powered borehole. By harnessing solar energy, we not only provide clean water for humans and animals but also contribute to global climate efforts by promoting renewable energy,” Bawa stated.

Local leaders, including Alhaji Lawan Ya’u Abdullahi, Chairman of Gumel Local Government in Jigawa State, acknowledged the project.

“This project is a blessing, and we thank Atmosfair and NAGGW for their support and commitment to our community. The solar-powered borehole will make a huge difference to our daily lives, providing easy access to clean water,” said Abdullahi.

Additionally, Engr Ahmed Bagudo, Director of Forestry and Land Management at NAGGW, introduced Atmosfair’s Cook Stove, which aims to reduce deforestation and protect health by decreasing dependence on firewood.

“The methods we use to cook impact both our health and the environment. This Cook Stove reduces smoke inhalation and pollution, providing a safer alternative,” Bagudo noted.
