Kano Police Nab 11 Kidnappers, Save Seven Teens Sold for N500,000

Kano police command has apprehended 11 kidnappers and rescued seven teenagers kidnapped in Bauchi and Kano.

The kidnapped children had already been sold to traffickers in Lagos and Enugun states for between, N400,000 and N500,000.

One of the rescued girls was allegedly kidnapped with the help of a medical doctor while on admission at Baichi Hospital. She was among those sold for N500,000 in Lagos.

Parading the 11 suspects at the Bompai command headquarters, Kano Commissioner of Police, Husani Muhammed Gumel said the kidnapped children were mostly Hausa tribe and had been cultured to the extent that they could no longer understand their mother language.

Gumel also disclosed that the police have arrested a suspected criminal who declared his intention to detonate an explosive in Kano, a development that brought security apparatus on their toes in the last few days.
