In what he described as a family reunion, the Rector, Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk Farouk, FCA received on a courtesy visit, members of the Accounting Department, Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano led by the Head of the Department, Dr. Sabo Muhammad.
The visit, according to the Head of the Department was to congratulate the Rector as well as strengthen the synergy that has been in existence between the Department and the Rector. He stressed that the appointment of Dr. Abubakar, who possesses all the qualities of a good leader as he demonstrated while he was the Head of the Department, will place KSP among the leading institutions in the nation.
In their different remarks, members of the entourage urged the Rector to maintain a high spirit of decorum and expertise in discharging the assigned responsibility. They prayed to the Almighty Allah to help him take the institution to glory.
The Rector in his response acknowledged and appreciated the visit. He added that he is still considering himself as part of the department.
He also emphasized the need for collaboration among the tertiary institutions which will allow them to accomplish what they could not individually.
“I have a plan to make some kind of collaboration with prominent universities like yours in matters relating to our staff promotion as well as absorbing our graduating HND and postgraduate students.” Dr. Abubakar said.
He urged them to help him explore areas of collaboration that he believes will move both institutions forward. He thanked them for the visit and prayed to the Almighty Allah to take them back to their respective destinations safely.
