Governor Radda Vows to Combat Corruption in State Road Traffic Agency

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has issued a stern warning to any officer of the Katsina State Road Traffic Agency (KASROTA) found engaging in corrupt practices.

The governor gave this warning during the Passing out Parade ceremony of 304 Marshals trained at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Training College in Katsina.

Addressing the newly recruited marshals, after reviewing the Parade, Governor Radda emphasized the importance of upholding the law and enforcing traffic regulations without bias.

He assured the marshals of his commitment to providing the necessary resources to support their operations, in line with the agency’s legal mandate.

Furthermore, Governor Radda urged anti-corruption agencies and concerned citizens to report any instances of bribery or misconduct by KASROTA marshals while on duty.

Expressing gratitude to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for organizing the four-week training programme, Governor Radda pledged to consider the marshals’ requests aimed at enhancing service delivery across the state.

Engineer Sani Magaji Ingawa, the State Commissioner of Works, Housing, and Transport, urged the newly recruited marshals to demonstrate maturity and adhere to the agency’s legal framework in carrying out their responsibilities.

In his plea for additional support from the state government, retired Major Garba Yahya Rimi rtd, the Director-General of KASROTA, highlighted the need for more vehicles to enhance the agency’s operational efficiency. He reiterated the agency’s commitment to becoming a leading traffic management authority in the country.

Commandant Babangida Abdullahi Dutsinma of the Training College emphasized the institution’s role in promoting peace, conflict resolution, and disaster management in Africa. He called for increased government support to facilitate effective service delivery.

The Katsina State Government remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring transparency, integrity, and efficiency within KASROTA as part of efforts to enhance road safety and traffic management in the state.
