Rurum Urges Unity, Compassion in Ramadan Message

Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, the Member representing Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure Federal Constituency, has extended his Ramadan greetings to the Muslim community, urging them to embrace compassion, unity, and self-discipline throughout the sacred month.

In a statement marking the beginning of Ramadan, Rurum emphasized the importance of using the holy month for spiritual reflection, kindness, and generosity.

“Ramadan is a period of deep spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and increased devotion to Almighty Allah. It is a time to strengthen our faith, seek forgiveness, and engage in acts of kindness and generosity toward one another,” he said.

He reminded Muslims of the lessons embedded in fasting, highlighting that it teaches patience, self-restraint, and empathy for the less privileged.

“Fasting during Ramadan reminds us of the struggles faced by those who go without food daily, inspiring us to extend a helping hand to those in need. Let us use this month as an opportunity to demonstrate love, charity, and compassion within our communities,” he added.

The lawmaker also called on political leaders and those in positions of authority to uphold justice and fairness, stressing that leadership is a trust that must be exercised with sincerity and the fear of Allah.

“I urge our political leaders and those in authority to uphold justice and fairness. Leadership is a trust, and we must use our positions to serve the people with sincerity and wisdom,” Rurum stated.

Acknowledging the economic hardships faced by many Nigerians, he encouraged people to share what they have with their neighbors, emphasizing that even small acts of kindness can bring relief to those in need.

He also urged youths to use Ramadan for personal growth, self-improvement, and meaningful engagement in beneficial activities. Additionally, he appreciated the sacrifices of mothers, sisters, and wives who ensure families are well-fed during Suhoor and Iftar.

“Our dear mothers, sisters, and wives, who make great sacrifices to ensure our families have nourishing meals for Suhoor and Iftar, deserve our appreciation. May Allah bless their efforts and grant them ease in their endeavors,” he noted.

As Ramadan unfolds, Rurum urged Muslims to pray for peace, stability, and prosperity in Nigeria while remembering those suffering hardships worldwide. He expressed hope that Allah would grant the Muslim Ummah good health, strength, and the opportunity to witness Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Power.

On behalf of himself and his family, he wished all Muslims a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling Ramadan, concluding with:

“May Allah shower His mercy upon us and grant us the grace to celebrate Eid in good health and happiness. Ramadan Mubarak!”
