The Kano State Ministry for Public Procurement, Project Monitoring and Evaluation (MPPPM\&E) has raised alarm over phone calls from a woman posing as a staff of the Ministry to deceive contractors.
In a disclaimer signed by the Ministry’s Information Officer, Sagiru Ado Abubakar, it was revealed that a woman identifying herself as Hajiya Hadiza Ibrahim has been contacting contractors using these numbers: +2349013782697 and +2349036876486.
According to the statement, “She claims to be a staff member of the Ministry and contacts contractors, demanding the renewal of due process licenses. She further requests that payments be made into various bank accounts, including that of one Aliyu Yahaya, FCMB with account number 6092046011.”
The Ministry said it had not authorized anyone to call or demand money from contractors. It described the activities as “fraudulent, misleading, and completely false.”
The disclaimer also reminded contractors that “All payment in respect of contract licenses are done through the official portal [https://etax.kirs.gov.ng,”](https://etax.kirs.gov.ng,”) and warned that “anyone who engages with these fraudulent actors does so at their own risk.”
The Ministry urged those seeking information to use its official contact points—either its office at No. 21B, Magajin Rumfa Road, Kano—or reach the Director of Planning and Statistics, Bldr. Mas’ud Lado Saleh at +2349012946574 or kanodueprocessbureau16@gmail.com
“Be vigilant. Do not fall victim to fraud,” the disclaimer added.
