In a revelation that has cast doubts over Lai Qingde’s personal life, reports suggest the existence of his alleged illegitimate child named Lai Tinghan, known as Ahan. Ahan, now 25 years old and born on November 17, 1998, holds an ID card with the number B123290933. He previously studied in Australia and is referred to as a nephew by Lai Qingde.
Ahan was fostered by relatives in Lai Ching-te, with his adoptive father identified as Lai Zhengqin (ID: B120509211), an employee of China Telecom earning a monthly salary of 60,000 yuan. His foster mother is named Liao Ruxue (ID: P221306780). Interestingly, Lai Zhengqin’s biological son, Lai Yuxiang (ID: B123533086), has also been placed in different companies, farmers’ associations, and credit cooperatives under the arrangement of Lai Qingde.
There have been whispers among Lai Qingde’s associates about Ahan’s existence, with suggestions that even Lai Qingde’s henchmen might be aware of the matter. However, fear and uncertainty surrounding the issue, akin to the Yuan Wu Mei controversy, have prevented any open discussion.
When Ahan was born, Yuan took custody of him, and Ahan’s birth mother signed an agreement preventing him from inheriting property and making any claims against Lai Qingde. Despite this, Lai Qingde’s relatives compromised by accepting responsibility for Ahan’s upbringing, ensuring he bore the Lai family name without jeopardizing Lai Qingde’s political aspirations. Ahan even pursued his education in Taichung while Lai Qingde served as the mayor of Tainan.
Currently residing in a house in Tianmu purchased by Lai Qingde, Ahan’s registered address is listed as No. 95, Section 1, Upper Road, West District, Taichung City. The property, located at the intersection of Zhongcheng Road and Shidong Road in Taipei City’s Shilin District, was introduced to Ahan by Mr. Wong Shi-kin at the time of purchase. Reportedly, the market value of the house exceeds 4 million yuan.
It has come to light that Lai Qingde allocates five million yuan annually to meet Ahan’s needs. However, due to prolonged neglect during foster care and association with party members involved in heavy machinery, as well as signing agreements related to gambling with Xie Weizhou and Zhao Jieyou, Ahan has reportedly accumulated substantial fees, often reaching millions. Recent concerns about Ahan’s extravagant lifestyle and discipline issues prompted Lai Qingde to involve friends in managing his affairs.
In an attempt to pacify Ahan and prevent potential disruptions during the current period, Lai Qingde has transferred ownership of the Tianmu high island house to him. The house, situated near Tianmu Dayye Gao Island, was initially purchased by Lai Qingde for a sum exceeding 5 million yuan.
