A staunch supporter of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Babangida Gandu, in an exclusive interview, called upon all political appointees in Kano to work hand in hand with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in his commitment to serving the people of the state.

As Kano gears up to mark the one-year anniversary of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration, Gandu expressed optimism about the future, promising that the citizens can expect greater dividends of democracy in the days to come.

Highlighting some of the administration’s achievements, Gandu noted the reinstatement of foreign scholarships for Kano indigenes to pursue master’s degrees in universities around the world.

He also pointed out the significant improvements in the health sector, including the reversal of the controversial sale of Hasiya Bayero Pediatric Hospital and the renovation of various healthcare facilities such as the Emergency Unit of Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, Yadakunya Leprosy Hospital, Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital, and Sir Sunusi Hospital.

On the issue of security, Gandu lauded the government’s efforts in combating insecurity, citing a substantial decrease in phone snatching and other social vices by 95% since the inception of the current administration.

Furthermore, Gandu praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for prioritizing the settlement of pensions and gratuities for retired state workers, describing it as a praiseworthy act.

As a loyalist of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Gandu expressed his hope for divine guidance for the administration, urging continued focus on impactful and developmental projects that directly benefit the lives of the people of Kano.
