KIRS Assures Staff of Imminent Salary Payments Following GT Bank System Issues

Employees of the Kano State Internal Revenue Service (KIRS) are experiencing delays in receiving their May 2024 salaries due to a system upgrade at Guaranty Trust Bank (GT Bank).

The announcement was made in a circular issued to all staff by Jamilu Sani, the Director of Finance and Revenue Accounts, on behalf of the Executive Chairman of KIRS.

According to the circular, the Executive Chairman had approved the payment of May salaries on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. However, due to ongoing system upgrades at GT Bank, the payments have been delayed.

“We regret the inconvenience caused by this delay and assure staff that their salaries will be paid as soon as the bank’s systems return to normal,” stated Sani.

The delay has caused concern among employees, many of whom rely on timely salary payments to meet their financial obligations.

The KIRS management has expressed its commitment to ensuring that such delays are minimized in the future and that contingency plans are in place to handle similar situations.
