One Year of Delivering Results: Achievements of Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba

Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba, Member Representing Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu, has demonstrably served his constituency in the past year. His focus on healthcare, employment, infrastructure, education, and empowerment has resulted in significant progress across the district. This report highlights some of the key achievements that have directly impacted the lives of his constituents.

Health Sector: Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba donated state-of-the-art medical equipment to Kontagora General Hospital, enhancing healthcare delivery in the region.

Employment: Efforts to provide jobs for youth within the constituency led to securing over twenty (20) federal appointments for graduates in institutions such as FCDA, FCTA, and FAAN.

Water Project: Eight newly drilled solar-powered community boreholes with water filters were commissioned to provide clean potable water, addressing the water crisis in areas like Unguwar Fanfaru (behind Government Girls College Kontagora LGA), Zungeru (Wushishi LGA), Unguwan Makada (Kontagora LGA), and Kuimo (Mariga LGA).

Education: Over six hundred and eight (608) scholarships were provided to students in various government universities, colleges of education, and polytechnics across the constituency.

Power Sector: Three (3) 500KVA electricity transformers were donated to communities including Anguwan Tudun Wadan, Model Secondary School, and Behind Hamson Guest Inn Gangare Community.

Empowerment: Over six hundred (600) women, mainly widows, were empowered with deep freezers to help them start frozen food businesses as part of a poverty alleviation and women empowerment scheme.

Infrastructural Development: 1,450 solar-powered streetlights were installed across various communities to foster infrastructural development and enhance security surveillance.

Donations: A vehicle was donated to the Association of Proprietors of Islamiyya School, Kontagora Branch.

Educational Scholarship and Development: A new Information and Communication Technology (ICT) center with a capacity of one thousand (1,000) is under construction at the Federal College of Education Kontagora. The center aims to become an accredited Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) center to ease examination processes for local students.

Ramadan Food Outreach: In the spirit of Ramadan, 2,200 bags of 25kg rice were distributed to Muslim constituents to support them during the holy month.
