Kwankwaso: Tinubu’s Kano Palliatives an Insult to Democracy

The national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has criticized the federal government, led by President Bola Tinubu, for assigning the distribution of rice palliatives in Kano State to a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Kwankwaso, a former presidential candidate of the NNPP, made the statement via his official X account on Monday.

He pointed out that unlike other states, where the federal government collaborated with the governors, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf was excluded from the process. “The distribution of palliatives to 35 states was conducted through their governors, except in Kano State,” Kwankwaso remarked, adding, “Kano’s share was given to APC stalwarts.”

He further described the situation as “a gross insult to our constitutional democracy” and accused the government of excessive partisanship.

Kwankwaso called on President Tinubu to “immediately stop this blatant derailment of democracy.”
