Kabiru Rurum Unveils ₦280M Empowerment Scheme

Honourable Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, representing Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure federal constituency, launched a distribution of palliatives, including 300 bags of rice, 150 wrappers, and a cash empowerment fund of ₦280 million, aimed at supporting youth and women in the constituency.

The distribution, held in Rano Local Government Area, provided 300 bags of rice to imams across Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure. Each Juma’at imam and their deputies received ₦30,000. Additionally, 150 women each received wrappers and a sum of ₦20,000 for sewing expenses.

Hon. Kabiru Rurum, represented by his Campaign Director-General, Alhassan Abubakar Kibiya, announced this as the second phase of his 2024 initiative, stating, “I am pleased to unveil the second phase of my empowerment initiative for 2024. Today, we distribute palliatives worth ₦280 million to support our religious leaders, youth, and women in Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure federal constituency.”

The initiative also provided grants to youth and community development organizations, ranging from ₦30,000 to ₦1.5 million.

Some beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the assistance. Malam Muhammadu Sani, an imam from Kibiya, said, “This assistance comes at a crucial time, especially with the rising cost of living. The support will help us focus on our work without worrying about immediate needs.”

Amina Yusuf, one of the women who received a wrapper and sewing fund, shared, “As a widow, this support means a lot to me. I can now sew a new dress and support my children.”
