The Federal Executive Council (FEC), led by President Bola Tinubu, has approved N885 billion for 10 major road projects aimed at improving Nigeria’s transportation network.

Key approvals include N305 billion for the Lokoja-Benin road reconstruction, N252 billion for the Abuja-Kano highway, and N470.9 billion for the Second Niger Bridge access roads.

Additionally, N159.5 billion has been allocated for five major infrastructure projects in Abuja, including road rehabilitation and a new bus terminal.

The FEC also sanctioned N3.5 billion for evaluating the structural integrity of Lagos’ Third Mainland and Carter Bridges. Minister of Works, David Umahi, emphasized the government’s shift to concrete construction for durability and cost savings.
