Buhari’s Death, a National Loss – Rep. Kabiru Rurum

The Member Representing Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure Federal Constituency, Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, has described the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari as a painful loss to Nigeria.

In a statement released on Sunday, Rurum, who is a former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, said, “This is a deeply painful loss, not only for his immediate family and the people of Daura, but for the entire nation. Baba Buhari was more than a former head of state—he was a symbol of discipline, simplicity, and patriotism.”

He recalled Buhari’s leadership as one driven by sacrifice and a strong anti-corruption stance.

“His years in leadership were marked by sacrifice, integrity, and an unwavering belief in the unity and progress of this country. History will remember him for his resilience and his firm stance against corruption,” he said.

Rurum also offered prayers for the late president. “May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, expand his grave, and grant him a place among the righteous in Aljannatul Firdaus.”

He concluded by expressing condolences to the family of the late president and to Nigerians.

“On behalf of myself, my family, and the good people of Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure Federal Constituency, I extend our deepest condolences to his family, the government, and the people of Nigeria.”
