Bitrus Manzo, Yola

Nigeria’s Modibbo Adama University (MAU) in Yola, Adamawa State, has secured approval for all 16 technical trade areas it submitted for accreditation, the institution said on Saturday.

The approval followed a recent visit by the Accreditation Team of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), according to a statement from the university’s Information and Publicity Unit.

“This remarkable achievement represents a major milestone for our University, marking a significant step towards expanding opportunities and strengthening technical education,” the statement said.

The institution praised Vice-Chancellor Ibrahim Umar for what it described as his “visionary leadership in the actualization of this initiative,” and commended his management team for their support.

It also singled out several senior staff members for recognition, including Prof. Ibrahim Danjuma for his “initiative, innovation, and support,” Centre Manager Prof. Dauda Moses, and Prof. Tukur Umar Ahmad, Director of Corporate Services at MAU Consult Ltd.

The statement added that further announcements will be made on the rollout of the new programmes, including admission and application guidelines.
