Kano Deputy Governor Blames NSA Nuhu Ribadu for Emir’s Return

Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has accused the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, of aiding the return of the dethroned Emir, Alhaji Ado Bayero, to the palace.

In a video interview at the Emir’s palace in Gidan Rumfa on Saturday, Gwarzo alleged that Ribadu provided two jets to transport Ado Bayero back to Kano.

“The National Security Adviser gave two jets to bring the dethroned emir to Kano and to bring him to the palace. We have not understood their intention,” Gwarzo stated.

Ado Bayero, who had been visiting the Awujale of Ijebuland in Ogun State, was greeted by a large crowd upon his early morning arrival in Kano. He then relocated to a mini palace in Nassarawa, an ancient town in the state.

This development follows the actions of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who recently dismissed Ado Bayero and other emirs appointed by his predecessor, Abdullahi Ganduje.

The governor had given the ousted emirs 48 hours to vacate their palaces and hand over to the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

Governor Yusuf has since reinstated Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, whom Ganduje had deposed in 2020, with Sanusi receiving his reappointment letter on Friday.
