In a significant move to protect the environment and reclaim public property, the Katsina State Government has mandated the immediate vacation of illegally allocated forestland.

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, following the recommendations of an investigative committee, has taken decisive action against the widespread distribution of sensitive and strategic forest areas for farming purposes.

The directive was announced by Abdullahi Aliyu Yar’adua, Director of Press for the Office of the Secretary to the Katsina State Government.

The statement advised individuals currently occupying these lands to vacate immediately to avoid complications and ensure a smooth transition.

The government emphasized that only Governor Radda holds the authority to approve the allocation of government forest lands and urban areas within Katsina State. To implement these recommendations, a new committee has been established.

Residents are urged to comply with the directive and refrain from unauthorized land acquisitions. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to environmental protection and proper land management.
