Kwankwaso Applauds Gov. Yusuf’s Resilience Despite Year-Long Political Strife

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement and the Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has accused the opposition in Kano State of distracting the government for the past year.

Senator Kwankwaso made these remarks during the declaration of a State of Emergency on education in Kano.

In his address, Kwankwaso stated, “Let me start by congratulating the governor on this historic day, the day he is declaring a State of Emergency on education. For those aware of the governor’s efforts from day one, his footprints are visible across the state.”

He further elaborated on the challenges faced by the governor, noting that, “Despite being distracted for about a year, immediately after the election, enemies of the state took him to court – from the Tribunal to the Appeal Court and then the Supreme Court. It was clear to everyone that there was no need for these legal battles, as the governor won the election fairly.”

Kwankwaso criticized the opposition’s tactics, saying, “Even the enemies admitted that they wanted to take it by force because they believed they had the backing of the government. Despite these obstacles, the governor has continued his work undeterred.”

Reflecting on his own tenure, Kwankwaso drew parallels to his second term as governor when he faced Boko Haram attacks but remained focused on his duties.

He praised the current governor’s resilience, saying, “The governor is moving forward, overcoming numerous obstacles, much like we did during the crisis of my second term.”

The declaration of a State of Emergency on education marks a significant step in addressing the educational challenges in Kano State, underscoring the governor’s commitment to progress despite political distractions.
