Bauchi PCC Hosts Training on Conflict Resolution, Mediation Skills

Mr. Ali Abdullahi, Director of Investigation for the Public Complaint Commission (PCC) in Bauchi State, has called on personnel to uphold high standards of professionalism in their duties.

This appeal came during the inauguration of a five-day training workshop on Monday in Bauchi.

The workshop, themed “Conflict Resolution and Mediating Skills,” is organized by the commission to enhance the management skills, professionalism, and work ethics of its staff for more effective service delivery.

Abdullahi emphasized that the training aims to improve understanding and awareness of the commission’s operations in local communities and to equip personnel with the skills needed for professionally addressing and resolving complaints.

Dr. Ibrahim Rabiu-Darazo, who presented a paper titled “Professionalism in Public Service,” highlighted the importance of professionalism in public roles. He covered topics such as understanding public service, core principles of public service, and the significance of maintaining professionalism.

Rabiu-Darazo noted that adherence to good work ethics fosters professionalism and productivity, leading to effective service delivery.

“Professionalism is not just about what you do, but how well you do it. Achieving professionalism in public work requires ongoing training to enhance service delivery,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that approximately 50 personnel from the commission’s head office and nine zonal offices in Bauchi State attended the workshop.
