Gov. Lawal Approves 108km Road Project in Zamfara to Combat Security Challenges

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the construction of the 108km Magami to Dansadau road during a State Executive Council meeting in Gusau.

Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, stated that the project aims to address security challenges and improve the well-being of people in the area.

The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure has received approval to start the contract award process and obtain the Certificate of No Objection from the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).

The contract has been awarded to Dantata and Sawoe Company at a cost of ₦81,189,223,505.73, with a duration of 18 months.

The project includes clearing the construction area, scarifying the existing surface, removing and replacing unsuitable material, providing filter material, filling with approved laterite, and constructing hydraulic structures such as reinforced concrete drains and access cover slabs.
