Zaura Escapes Mob Attack in Kano, Vehicles Damaged, Supporters Injured

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdulsalam Abdulkareem Zaura, has narrated how he narrowly escaped a mob attack by suspected thugs at Farm Centre in Kano metropolis.

Zaura, who recently declared his intention to contest the Kano Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections, said several of his vehicles were damaged while some of his supporters sustained injuries in the incident.

The attack occurred on Monday while the businessman and hundreds of supporters were heading to Meena Event Centre for the official declaration of his senatorial ambition.

Speaking through his media aide, Dahiru Maiwada, Zaura alleged that suspected hoodlums suddenly attacked his convoy and vandalised several vehicles.

According to him, Zaura escaped unhurt, but the incident left a trail of damage and caused panic among traders and residents in the area.

He further stated that the same group of hoodlums later invaded the GSM Market at Farm Centre, throwing the area into chaos before security agencies restored order.

Zaura commiserated with victims of the attack and commended the swift response of security operatives in bringing the situation under control.

He expressed concern over rising youth-related violence, calling for urgent measures to address its root causes and protect lives and property.

The APC stalwart urged security agencies to investigate the incident and ensure those responsible are brought to justice, warning that such actions could threaten peace and economic activities in the state.

He also advised youths to embrace peace, dialogue, and lawful means of expressing grievances.

Zaura reaffirmed his commitment to supporting policies that promote security and economic stability in Kano Central, noting that traders and small businesses must operate in a safe environment to thrive.

The incident has raised fresh concerns over security around major commercial areas in Kano, particularly as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
