At least three Christian worshipers were killed in an unprovoked attack by armed bandits in Bakinpah-Maro, a community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
About 31 persons, including a pastor, were also kidnapped when the attackers targeted ECWA and Catholic churches in the community.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday during church service.
According to reports, a former chairman of Kajuru LGA, Cafra Caino, confirmed the tragic event. Caino said the bandits, who arrived around 10 am in large numbers, fired sporadically, aiming at the two churches in the community.
He further disclosed that Pastor Bernard Gajera was among those kidnapped by the assailants.
Attempts to reach the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Munir Hassan, were unsuccessful.
