Maharazu Tsiga, a former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has been abducted in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Tsiga, a retired Major General, was reportedly kidnapped alongside several residents of Tsiga village. The incident occurred around midnight on Wednesday, according to sources familiar with the matter.
As of the time of filing this report, details surrounding the abduction remain unclear. Efforts to obtain comments from Abubakar Aliyu, spokesperson of the Katsina State Police Command, have been unsuccessful.
This incident comes amid a surge in kidnappings for ransom across northern Nigeria in recent times.
