Sunshine, Thunderstorms Expected Across Nigeria This Week, NiMet Warns

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted a mix of sunshine and thunderstorms across the country from Monday to Wednesday.

“We expect a mix of sunny and hazy conditions in the north on Monday, with chances of thunderstorms over parts of Kebbi state,” said Niyi Ojo, a weather forecaster at NiMet.

“The rest of the north will likely experience sunshine with patchy clouds in the morning, with isolated thunderstorms possible later in the day over parts of Bauchi, Taraba and Kaduna states.”

The forecast for the south is similar, with cloudy skies and scattered sunshine expected throughout the period. There is a chance of isolated thunderstorms in many southern states, including Lagos and Akwa Ibom.

NiMet advises airline operators to stay updated on the latest weather reports to ensure safe operations.

The agency also warns the public to take precautions against strong winds that may precede the thunderstorms.
