President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reinstated Mr. Salihu Abdullahi Dembos as the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), following a brief removal amid recent management changes within the organization.
Dembos, who was first appointed as DG in October 2023, has now been directed to resume office and complete his three-year tenure, in line with the original presidential appointment.
In a similar directive, President Tinubu also reinstated Mr. Ayo Adewuyi as Executive Director of News at the NTA. Adewuyi, appointed in 2024, will continue in the role until the end of his tenure in 2027.
The president’s decision effectively nullifies the previously announced appointments to key leadership positions at NTA, including those of Director-General, Executive Director of News, Executive Director of Marketing, and Managing Director of NTA Enterprises.
The move signals the president’s commitment to institutional stability, continuity in leadership, and the importance of adhering to appointment tenures in public service.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by *Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
