Prof. Adamu Ahmed Appointed as Ahmadu Bello University’s New Vice-Chancellor

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has announced the appointment of Prof. Adamu Ahmed as its new Vice-Chancellor. The decision was made by the institution’s Governing Council during its 209th (Special) meeting, presided over by the Council Chairman, Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, CFR, at 6:15 AM today, Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

Prof. Ahmed, a distinguished scholar in Urban and Regional Planning, has had a long and impactful academic career at ABU. He previously served as the Director of the Directorate of University Advancement and is currently the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Education, Kano.

His appointment marks a new chapter for Ahmadu Bello University, as the institution looks forward to his leadership and vision for academic excellence and institutional growth.
