DAMATURU, YOBE STATE – A tragic road accident on the Damaturu-Maiduguri highway has resulted in seven confirmed deaths and multiple injuries. The collision, which occurred near Warsala village in the Potiskum Local Government Area, involved a Toyota Sienna bus and a Toyota Corolla.
Eyewitnesses at the scene attributed the crash to excessive speed by both drivers. A frontline emergency responder from the Yobe Emergency Medical Ambulance Service (YEMABUS) confirmed that seven individuals four adults and three children died in the crash. The injured victims were immediately evacuated and transported to the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital in Damaturu for urgent medical attention.
The YEMABUS Information Officer, Ibrahim Waziri, emphasized the importance of their timely response, stating that their professional care “undoubtedly saved lives.”
